There are two ways to accept payments online. One is to use 3rd Party Payment Pages and the other is to open your own merchant account.
To integrate with PayPal™ for example, will cost you 3.8%~ plus 35p per transaction and you will have to send customers to the PayPal™ web site, whereas using your own merchant account will cost you no more than 2-3% and will be seamlessly integrated into your web site in both the front and back end. Moreover, Youds Media fully supports the 3D Secure system which see's a liability shift on from the vendor to the banks.
To obtain your own merchant account is the recommended option - it's no different to any other bank account except it allows card holder not present transactions. All you need from your merchant account provider is the account number, once you have this you're ready. For a complete list of accepted merchant account providers click here. You will have to meet with the bank and give projected sales figures so be aware you may be asked for trading records or an up-to-date business plan.
